ABRASION STATION #8

THE BEASTY BOY FIGHT YOURSELF BLIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO PARTY

When the Beasty Boys said, “FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT TO PARTY!” it was cool: opposing conservative parents, cops, and school teachers (even the oppressive art-direction of Popular Science Magazine), just to have an innocent, fun and freaky good time. Some people take this message literally and find themselves in a “FREE-FOR-ALL!”, “fight yourself blight,” i.e. fighting yourself, i.e. fighting other ravers. In this boxing match the only one in the ring is you beating the crap out of yourself like Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield with that bald-headed ref., Mills Lane from The Peoples’ Court looking at you like the dork that you are. Like to fight? We’ll supply the boxing gloves and ring, “DING!” knock yourself silly. The Beasty Boys and everyone else will be in the audience laughing their asses off at your ass, and this laugh, like this event, is “free for all.”
