aerodynamic bunny ears help stabilize my flight (goth is my co-pilot)

On Easter Sunday, at Ski Brule in the Michigan UP, it was half off lift tickets if you wore bunny ears. You can take the man out of performance art, but you can't take the performance art out of the man! A goth rockin' snow-bunny hoppin' snowboarding super-session ensued. Play the video below loud to feel the whistlin'-wind-rippin' vibrations.

All pictures and video thanks to "Navy Dave" Nastal who skied backwards at speed while operating a camera! Video edited by Theodore J. Richter, April 8, 2007.

My favorite pic: a free-soaring T-bird in perfect form.

Deceptively cute to the untrained eye w/pert bat man unibomber bunny ears and a vintage Burton "Woody 145" snowboard (cir. 1987), this picture is "trouble" personified. Why?

This snow-bunny is stoned off his ass, and the "Woody" snowboard is banned at ski areas in all 48 states because it lacks metal edges necessary to cut into ice (think of an old plastic knife vs. a newly-sharpened metal steak knife cutting into the slopes).

But do ski resorts know anything about snowboarding? PSYCH! Not one ski patrol stopped this goth rockin' stoned snow-bunny from taking the Woody out on an Easter-Sunday terrain-park joy-ride, which was like taking a Model-T Ford on a slippery Indy 500, WHOA!

The Bunny Man caught on tape tuning up his board. Check out the goth rockin' bunny ear piercing (on his left ear), camouflage bandana, and duck hunting jacket. Deep down I'm hick!

I started my adult life as a skateboarder/surfer then evolved into a performance artist. Like a primordial muscle memory, I still ride when I create, pulling off maneuvers in my mind with lots of radical lip-slides & grinds, SHRALP! Snowboarding was a very necessary activity to keep me going through this severe quinolone reaction; however, snowboarding is not what I am supposed to do with my life, performance art is. That said, the snowboarding fucking rocked! Word up to the Milwaukee Moda 3 crew!

My mighty fleet. Classic surfboards, skateboards, and snowboards. I ride them all.

growth & endorphins & highs & changes of life: the craig kelly story

Craig Kelly interview and trailer for Let It Ride. It's very philosophical. you can see how anyone can get sucked into this snowboarding thang. Tragically, Craig was killed in an avalanche in 2003 : ( RIP.
